The Convergence is a two-and-a-half-day gathering of labor leaders and activists who are actively engaged in work to confront the climate crisis. We will bring together trade unionists and allies who want to make the labor movement a force for climate protection and to make the climate protection movement a partner with the labor movement for good jobs and healthy communities. The Convergence is an opportunity to learn, share and help to develop and strengthen labor’s voice in the movement to build a just equitable and sustainable environment and economy.
The major goal of the Convergence is to produce an action agenda for labor around climate change, and to draft a strategy for organizing around that agenda. This year we will share examples of effective local campaigns, particularly related to labor's role in the Green New Deal, for renewable energy, public transit, successful labor/community just transitions from fossil fuels to clean energy.
We are excited to engage your leadership, experience and input in this critical time.
